Terms of Service

1. Scope

These terms of service govern the use of Coilr (available at coilr.org). The operator is the person named in the legal notice (Impressum). By using Coilr, you agree to these terms.

2. Description of the Service

Coilr is a free dashboard that retrieves and displays publicly available Steam data, including playtime, achievements, and library information. That data comes from the Steam Web API and from publicly accessible endpoints of the Steam website (store details, cover art, prices, and review summaries). Coilr is not a product of Valve and is neither endorsed nor sponsored by Valve.

3. Access Requirements

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Coilr.
• Sign-in is handled exclusively via Steam OpenID. No separate Coilr account is required.
• You must have a valid Steam account.

4. Data Sources and Accuracy

• Displayed Steam data comes from the Steam Web API (playtime, achievements, library) and from publicly accessible endpoints of the Steam website (store details, cover art, prices, review summaries), and is provided “as is.”
• Coilr makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the displayed data.
• Historical playtime snapshots are recorded with each sync. These snapshots reflect the state at the time of synchronization.

5. Intellectual Property and Trademarks

• Valve, Steam, and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
• Game names, icons, and associated media are the property of their respective developers and publishers.
• Coilr is not affiliated with or authorized by Valve. Use of the Steam Web API is in accordance with the Steam Web API Terms of Use; publicly accessible information from the Steam website is also used.
• The “Coilr” brand and website design are the property of the operator.

6. Acceptable Use

When using Coilr, you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or make bulk automated requests to the Coilr website or API
• Attempt to access other users’ accounts or circumvent platform security
• Use Coilr for unlawful, harassing, or malicious purposes
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit data displayed through Coilr
• Misrepresent your identity or your association with a Steam account

7. Availability

Coilr is provided on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of availability. The service may be modified, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice. We are not liable for any damages arising from unavailability or changes to the service.

8. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to Coilr at any time and for any reason, particularly in the event of a violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time via account settings.

9. Limitation of Liability

Coilr is provided free of charge and without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of Coilr. This applies in particular to inaccurate or missing data from the Steam data sources used.

10. Privacy

The processing of personal data is governed by our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Coilr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction is, to the extent permitted by law, the domicile of the operator.
