How do I know a Steam discount is actually good?
Compare it against the game's own history rather than the percentage on the badge. A −75% on a game that sits at −75% twice a year is an ordinary week; a −40% on something that has never gone below −30% is the real deal. Every row here carries the lowest price we have recorded, and the ones sitting at it are marked Lowest ever.
Is the "low" price the real all-time low?
It is the lowest price we have seen since this tracker started watching that game, not since it launched. Where a game has been tracked for a while that is the same thing in practice, but on a recently added game the low can only be as old as our first reading of it. We would rather say that than imply a longer memory than we have.
Can I be told when a game gets cheaper?
Yes. Sign in with Steam, search for any game on Steam — it does not have to be one anybody here owns — and set the price you would buy it at. When it drops to or below that, it is flagged on your watchlist and in your notifications.
Are the prices in my own currency?
Where a real regional price has been fetched, yes, and it is Steam's own price for that region rather than a conversion. Prices we only hold in USD are converted and marked with a ≈ so the two are never confused.
